Who am I?

50 years ago, you had limited choices in coffee.  Black/Decaf, Sugar/No Sugar, Cream/No Cream. 

Then we added milk (non-fat to Whole)

Then we added 4 different sweeteners. 

Then we added extracts.

Then we added milk, foam, vanilla, chocolate, and nitro brewing.

Then we added non-dairy milk (Oat, Almond, Soy).

So now, an order like this:

“A grande, triple non-fat, half-decaf, soymilk, French roast, caramel cappuccino.

With just a splash of hazelnut and orange extract.  Put the extra foam in a separate cup.”

is normal. Pompous in my opinion? Yes.  Ridiculous? You betcha.  But people are trying not to be defined by their choices/coffee identity.

The same is true about people’s gender.  Once again, 50 years ago, there were two genders, and three sexual preferences.  Not anymore.

50 years ago, you had ultraliberals, liberals, moderates, conservatives, and ultraconservatives. Today, it’s just left and right.  Politically, we are moving in the opposite direction.

So in the spirit of today’s anti-pigeonholing movement, I am a cis-gender, heteronormative, left-of-center, fiscally conservative, socially liberal human male (who identifies as a multi-racial man).

I have friends from nearly every corner of the planet, and nearly every dimension of morality.  Some of the things I will talk about will seem farfetched, but they aren’t.

I will use movie quotes, song lyrics, pop culture and the Bible to illustrate and parallel my discussions.
